In the spring of 2003, John Scarborough was hired as a part time driving instructor for the Richard Petty Driving Experience. "The Jet" instructed numerous Rookie classes at New Hampshire International Speedway throughout the summer months. At speeds of up to 125 M.P.H., he has logged over 600 laps in a Winston/Nextel Cup Style race car. In the early summer of 2004, John became a full time driving instructor and was based out of Concord, NC for a short time. During this time, he instructed at Richmond International Speedway (Richmond, VA), Gateway International Raceway (Madison, IL), Pikes Peak International Raceway (Fountain, CO), Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, TN), Walt Disney World Speedway (Orlando, FL), as well as New Hampshire International Speedway (Loudon, NH), and Nazareth Speedway (Nazareth, PA).
